How to use Infusionsoft as a CRM

You don't need a huge team for Infusionsoft.
Thank you to everyone who has submitted questions!  This week, I want to answer a question we get a lot about Infusionsoft’s CRM Functionality.

Question: “What is your advice for the best techniques for starting to use Infusionsoft as a CRM? Does Infusionsoft have any methods for importing contact information from business card scanners or cell phones?”

One of the best aspects of Infusionsoft is that you can truly use it as a one-stop shop for your business.  You can collect info about your potential customers, their habits, their needs, and deliver content or products to them all from one place!

First, lets talk about some of the information we can store about clients in Infusionsoft.  Beyond the basic contact information that you need to interact with your clients on a regular basis, it can also store order/purchase history.  This allows you to pinpoint who your best customers are and see how they are acting and where they came from originally.

Keep Your Data All Under One Roof

Infusionsoft also allows you the ability to store the history of all communication with the client in ONE place – that means emails, notes on phone calls, follow-up communication, auto responders – it is ALL stored in one record.  So when you’re on the phone and they ask you about the order they placed 6 months ago and the email you sent directly after that – you have a single place to look.

Another thing Infusionsoft can help with is assigning tasks to your team (or yourself) that are directly linked to the client.  You can set reminders for follow-up calls, to send content, or to make sure that a payment was secured.  Best of all, you can include all the contact information so that you have everything in front of you when you sit down to perform the task.

In addition to the basic information that you can input automatically, you can also use Infusionsoft for storing custom information.  You can create custom fields and custom forms to collect business specific information to help you better serve your clients.  These can include social media accounts, goals, questionnaires, and other psychographic and demographic information.  Even better, you can create custom intake forms for your basic programs that automatically attach to the client’s record.

Extending Infusionsoft Even More!

There are so many awesome tools that allow you to do even more with Infusionsoft.  Here’s two free tools we recommend to help you maximize these capabilities:

1. Infusionsoft Sync for Gmail – This lets you connect your Gmail account with Infusionsoft to easily add new contacts right from your Gmail inbox.  No transferring, no remembering to enter someone tomorrow…next week….or never!  You can also add new tags and notes to clients.  Used properly, you can add a new contact from Gmail and kick off a nurture sequence with Infusionsoft and never even leave your inbox!

2. Snap by Infusionsoft (The New Infusionsoft iPhone/Android App!) – This cool app lets you import contacts right from your phone.  You can manually sync a contact to Infusionsoft and add tags to their new record.  Even better, you can just scan their business card to let the app automatically record their data.  The app does all the work with Infusionsoft so you get all the benefits without any of the hassle.
